CHRISTINA (TINA) NICOLE BOYD

October 3, 2017

Christina (Tina) Nicole Boyd, BA/BSC (McMaster), MA (Carleton) - Tina died peacefully, Oct. 3, 2017, at the age 46, supported by her loving parents, Marion and Terry Boyd, and Joseph Dunlop-Addley, as well as her furry friends, Maggie and Tosca. Fondly remembered by her aunts and uncles, Pat Boyd of Port Perry, Ken and Ann Boyd of Fenelon Falls, Sheila Bauer of Underwood, Marg and Grant Black of Marsville, David Watt of Durham, and Cheryl Pfister of Barrie, and all her cousins and their families, and by her large extended Addley/Conahan family, led by Pat Schram of Shedden. Predeceased by her grandparents, Bill and Dorothy Watt and Irving and Marian Boyd; “Pop,” Ray Schram; and uncle, Clive Boyd. Tina’s journey with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) was long and difficult, filled with disappointments and losses. Yet, she never lost her determination to live with optimism, gratitude and faith, always ready to sing, smile, and laugh; when asked how she felt, she answered, “I’m great!” Tina’s glass was never less than “half-full.” We will miss our sunshine. Fulfilling Tina’s desire to live and die in Inverhuron, by her beloved lake, required help of many people. The family is grateful to all of them for their support. In addition to her family, special thanks are extended to the following: her physicians, Dr. Marc Lebeau (Ottawa) and Dr. Susan Batten (Hanover); her CCAC nurses, especially Alison, Micah and Beth; her Team 4 nurses, especially Tammy and Susan; her many devoted PSWs, especially Kerry, Jan, Sue, Carrie and Kristin, and the E-shifters, especially Christine, David, Cindy and Susan, whose service allowed her parents to sleep; her VON palliative care visitors, Joy and Joyce; the Kincardine and Port Elgin Day Away staff, drivers, volunteers and participants; the staff at Gordon Pharmasave, Saugeen Mobility, and Mackhall Mobility; her ministers, Rev. Gord Dunbar, pastor Judy Zarubick and Rev. Don Harry, as well as all her dear friends at the Kincardine United Church, whose prayers, visits, good wishes and cards sustained her to the end. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine (www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com). At Tina’s wish, cremation has already taken place. A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place at Kincardine United Church, 721 Princes Street, Kincardine, Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gord Dunbar officiating. The family will receive visitors, at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, from 7-9 p.m. and at the Kincardine United Church, Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, from 12:30-2 p.m., prior to the service. Refreshments will be served in the church hall after the service. Interment at a later date. The family would appreciate donations to honour Tina’s memory, be made to Kincardine United Church (www.kincardineunitedchurch.org) or Home and Community Support Services Grey-Bruce (Shoreline Day Away Program).
