Clarence Ashley (Ash) Cromwell of Trillium Court, Kincardine, died Monday, July 25, 2016, in his 91st year. Ash was born in Port Stanley, son of the late Lionel and Mary Cromwell. Beloved husband of the late Calomena (Pat) Cromwell (née MacDonald). He will be sadly missed by his surviving sisters, Gail (Henry) Noyes of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Marilyn Brown of Sarnia; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his brothers, Monte Cromwell of Port Stanley and Oliver; and his sisters, Nina Margaret  Crocker of St. Thomas, Dorothy Wilson of New Brunswick, and Ruth Anne (Wayne) Dengler of Danbury, Connecticut. Ashley was a proud veteran of The Royal Canadian Air Force (Corporal) as radio operator No. 211, from 1952-68. As a young man, he was a fisherman on the Great Lakes, then spent time in the mining industry. He loved his time in Western Canada and he returned to Ontario with Calomena to be with family members, providing joy and support as they had done out west. He was an honest, devoted and caring husband and will be missed by all. Following Ashley’s wishes, there will be no service. A private inurnment will reunite Calomena with him in Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
