Health unit reports two new cases of COVID-19 in Grey-Bruce

The Grey Bruce Health Unit has reported two new cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the region in the past 24 hours, up to midnight Aug. 18 – one is in Brockton, and one is in Meaford.

Grey Bruce medical officer of health Dr. Ian Arra reports a total of 2,215 confirmed cases, to date, including 2,184 resolved cases, 31 active cases, 117 cases in health-care workers, three confirmed cases hospitalized, and 13 deaths (plus one death related to a Grey-Bruce resident who acquired the infection and was treated outside the region; and seven deaths related to Grey-Bruce residents who acquired the infection in Grey-Bruce, but died outside the region).

Local and provincial data may not align as cases with unconfirmed cause of death are not included above but are included in the provincial data.

There are 67 active high-risk contacts.

One local active case was transferred to hospital outside of Grey-Bruce.
