Ripley girls take basketball championship at Walkerton Riverhawk Classic

The Ripley Raven girls won the championship banner at the 2017 Walkerton Riverhawk Classic elementary girls basketball tournament, held March 23 at the Walkerton District Community School.
Ripley faced Port Elgin Northport in the first game and it was a very fast-paced match, with Ripley coming out on top, 39-6.
The girls' fast passing was too much for Chesley in the next game as Ripley dribbled to a 27-12 victory.
In the championship game against John Diefenbaker School in Hanover, Ripley once again got off to a fast start with a 13-2 lead. Ripley’s excellent rebounding and layups resulted in a 25-13 win.
