South Bruce OPP report overnight break-ins; and single-vehicle crash

POLICE INVESTIGATING OVERNIGHT BREAK-INS

(KINCARDINE, ON) – The South Bruce OPP is investigating reports of break-and-enters along Queen Street, Kincardine, during the overnight hours of Dec. 13-14.

B&W Appliances, Fine Fettle and the Winning Booth were all forcibly entered. A quantity of cash was taken from each business.

In addition, an unsuccessful attempt was made to break in to the Sears store.

Residents are encouraged to report suspicious vehicles and suspicious people as soon as possible so officers can investigate.

IMPAIRED DRIVER COLLIDES WITH STONE FLOWER BED

(TIVERTON, ON) – Dec. 14, at 8:36 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Main Street and King Street in Tiverton. 
Officers arrived to find that a black Pontiac Sunfire was travelling northbound on King Street before colliding with a stone flower bed. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. Thirty-seven-year-old Owen LUTES of London was charged with impaired operation, operate over 80 milligrams and dangerous driving. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 19, 2015, to answer to the charges.  There were no injuries reported at the scene.
