Mabel Blake of Kincardine dies at the age of 93

Mabel Annie Blake (née Smiley), of Kincardine, and formerly of Mattawa, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, Saturday, June 24, 2017, in her 94th year.

Beloved wife of the late Frank Blake, and mother of the late Theresa Walicki.

Cherished mother of Harriette (Bernard) Cavan, Pauline (Richard) Held, and Loretta Guay, all of Ottawa, Joan (Randy) Hafermehl of Elmwood, and Robert (Lois) Blake and Michael (Carol) Blake, all of Kincardine.

Loved by 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Missed by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Predeceased by her brother, Donald Smiley; son-in-law, Brian Guay; and one great-granddaughter, MaKenzie Roberts.

Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Wednesday, June 28, 2017, from 10 a.m. until Noon.

Funeral mass to follow at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 749 Russell Street, Kincardine, at 12:30 p.m., with Father Thomas Manninezhath officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church or Kincardine Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183 (Poppy Fund), would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
