The Kinetic Knights Robotics Team 781 of Kincardine brought home the Gracious Professionalism award from the Greater Toronto East Regional in Oshawa on the weekend.
Mentor Pat O'Cain was also named a finalist for the Woodie Flowers award for mentorship.
The team competed in a number of qualification matches in the "Recycle Rush" challenge. Different than previous competitions, this one centred on stacking totes and recycling bins and throwing litter on the opponent's field.

By the end of qualification rounds, Team 781 was in eighth place, and named an Alliance Captain. It joined with Teams 4476 and 3387 and advanced as far as the quarter-finals before being eliminated from the competition.
The team's next regional is in North Bay March 27-28. If the team qualifies, it would be eligible to attend the world championships in April in St. Louis, Missouri.
