Ainsdale ladies enjoy sunny, warm weather for final league outing

Tuesday, found the Ainsdale Ladies playing under a sunny sky, with a warm breeze, for their final league outing of the 2017 season.

The event began with a four-person scramble on the front nine at 5 p.m.,  followed by a social hour at 7 p.m., and dinner at 7:30 p.m.

Ainsdale co-owner Charles Candler called for the ladies attention at 8:15 p.m., to begin the announcements of the winners for the season.

Closest-to-the-Pin on No. 8, went to team Karen Neilipovitz, Janice Matchett, Beth Mimnagh and Shelly Pollock.

A blistering low score of 32 for the nine-hole scramble was carded by the team of Debby Antler,  Debbie Quinn,  Norma Jean Rhody and Dawn Cleland,

Hot on their heels were three teams at one under 34,  tied for second place.

The flight winners of the Stableford competition for 2017 were:
  • A - Maureen Peet
  • B - Cindy Schmidt
  • C - Michele Lanthier
  • D - Edie Fotheringham
  • E - Brenda Grant

The leaders on the Ringer Board were:
  • A - Maureen Peet
  • B - Cindy Schmidt
  • C - Michele Lanthier
  • D - Ethel McDonald
  • E - Muriel Cochrane

The Most Improved over the season, was Sandy Black, while Debbie Pegg and Edie Fotheringham were congratulated for attending 21 out of the 22 weeks.

The evening continued with the draw for a turn at the prize table where every lady had her choice.

Candler announced the names and thanked the weekly sponsors for their generous donations.

The evening came to a close at 9 p.m. with everyone expressing appreciation for a great evening and an enjoyable and successful golf season.
