A great crowd turned out for the Rainbows for Kathryn benefit dance, Friday, Sept. 22, in Ripley, to support Kathryn MacLennan and her family.
The four-year-old was diagnosed in May, with Acute Lymphastic Leukemia which means her bone marrow is creating an excess amount of white blood cells, resulting in a low red blood cell count. The daughter of Chris and Mary Ellen MacLennan, she has a six-year-old brother, Duncan, and they live on Highway 21, south of Amberley.
The benefit dance and silent auction were organized by family and friends, to help with medical and treatment costs related to Kathryn's regular trips to London for chemotherapy.
The MacLennans were pleased to greet so many people at the event. "Everyone has been very generous and we are extremely thankful and overwhelmed by everyone's thoughts and prayers for our family."
A Go Fund Me page has also been set up, with donations going toward medical and treatment costs over the next two years. If you wish to donate, visit https://www.gofundme.com/KathrynM.
