New Amberley General Store set to open in the spring

By: Liz Dadson
December 4, 2017

If you're wondering what that huge structure is, being built west of the Amberley General Store, at the corner of Highway 21 and Bruce County Road 86, it's a newer, larger store set to open in the spring.

Lal Chouhan, president of Amberley General Store Ltd., says the new store will be close to double the size, at 7,000 square feet, featuring full-service Country Style and Mr. Sub restaurants.

The new facility will offer more hardware and groceries, and includes a new Shell gas station.

Chouhan said construction began about three months ago, and the building is slated for completion by the spring. Once the new store is up and running, the old building will be demolished.
