The Tiverton Lions Club served about 200 people at the 39th annual Seniors Christmas Dinner held Friday night at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre in Tiverton.
MC Brent Crawford welcomed everyone and offered up a few jokes before saying grace. The volunteer servers then made sure everyone's plate was full of turkey dinner, with all the fixings.
Following the meal, Crawford thanked Jacqueline Pinkerton for providing the chocolate treats for everyone at the table; Ross Young Bus Lines for transportation from Tiverton Park Manor; Saugeen Mobility for transportation; and Ruby MacLennan for making the decorative Christmas centrepieces which were later raffled off.
John Leader of Paisley entertained the crowd with some wonderful old tunes and Christmas songs.
The annual dinner saw the Lions and helpers cook 10 turkey rolls, 80 pounds of potatoes and 80 pounds of turnip, along with all the trimmings for the feast. The event is the club's way of thanking the seniors in the Tiverton area for all they have contributed to the community.
