BEREND "BEN" BEISHUIZEN

Berend “Ben” Beishuizen of Ripley, died, surrounded by his family, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, April 16, 2025, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Linda for 52 years. Dear father of Derek Beishuizen of Ripley, Karen and Thomas Rohrbach of Switzerland, Mike Beishuizen of Alberta, Kelly and Craig Kirkconnell of Kincardine, and Brian and Johanna Beishuizen of Germany. Proud grandpa of Natalie, Travis, Sydney, Madison, Nolan, Kaitlyn, Makenna, Chloe, Charlotte and Ben. Great-grandpa of Koen, Conner, Kira, Brooke and Jace. Survived by his siblings, John and Clara Beishuizen of Sarnia, and Gerdie and Nick Huizinga of Martintown. Predeceased by his parents, Derk and Anna Beishuizen. Ben moved to the Ripley area to farm with his father in 1966. He met and married Linda, and they started a pig and dairy operation and continued with the dairy farm until 1998. He then continued to farm with his son, Derek. When Ben was not busy helping on the farm, he enjoyed travelling with Linda which included many visits to Alberta, Switzerland and Germany, including stops to visit their children. Ben always enjoyed road trips through northern Ontario, including annual trips on “the big canoe.” Ben was an active member of the community, including Ripley Agricultural Society, Pine River Cheese Factory board of directors, Bluewater Snowmobile Club, and the Christian Reformed Church. Thank you to all the staff at the hospital, and a special thank you to Dr. Jason Murray for his support and compassion. A private family funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Ripley. A public celebration of Ben’s life will be conducted at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre upstairs auditorium, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 1-5 p.m. Interment, Ripley Cemetery.
