KENNETH "KEN" MURRAY THOMSON

June 2, 2025



Kenneth “Ken” Murray Thomson died Monday, June 2, 2025, surrounded by family, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Nancy Thomson (nee O’Dell). Loving father of Darren Thomson (Melanie) of Okotoks, Alberta, and Randi Charette (Dave) of Kincardine. Proud grandfather of Hayli Charette (Conor), Tanner Charette (Taylar), and Brooklyn Charette (Gavin). Lovingly remembered by his sister, Elaine McNally (Paul); and in-laws, Pat Carpenter, Jane Marsh, Lynn Dobson, Susan O’Dell (Richard), and Cindy O’Dell; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ken shared a special bond with his pet companions, Maggie, Molly, and black lab, Sam. Predeceased by his parents, Garnet “Peter” and Vera Thomson; parents-in-law, Ed and Vera O’Dell; and brothers in-law, Bob Carpenter, Bob Marsh and Bob Dobson. Ken worked at the Bruce Heavy Water Plant as an operator from 1971 to 2001. His time at the plant not only provided him with an income but with many great and lasting friendships. He believed strongly in giving back to his community, volunteering his time to the Walker House, Fish Hatchery, Lake Huron Fishing Club, Kincardine Nimrod Club and the Kincardine Trails. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2 p.m., at Pine River United Church, with Rev. Wonder Chimvinga officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Inverlyn Lake Estates Clubhouse, 157 Carloway Trail, Kincardine. In honour of Ken, we encourage you to wear your favourite camo, Toronto Blue Jays, or Maple Leafs apparel. Interment, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters or the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
