Kincardine Horticultural Society wants your gardens to be on the next tour

May 15, 2024

Do you have a green thumb, and want to showcase your gardens?

What could be better than to sit in the sunshine and be creative, experimenting with nature! That is what gardening is all about.

Yes, you tend to get your hands dirty, but then you sit back and admire what you have created (along with Mother Nature’s help, of course).

Not so many months before, you might have been looking at a pile of dirt, or a bunch of weeds. Then, suddenly, you admire the results of your labour. A few hours here and there, has suddenly transformed your green space into something new and fresh. What a great feeling of accomplishment!

Why not share that feeling; offer to share that personal space, so others can enjoy as well.

The Kincardine Horticultural Society is looking for properties for the garden tour.

The event is a tour of eight local gardens.

“We are not looking for anything special; big or small, we like them all,” said Dan Roy of the horticultural society. “The typical property would include a trimmed lawn (weeds – no problem), some flowers, in several locations (variety is nice), possibly a feature item – might be a special plant, garden art, water feature, or other. The homeowner should be available during the tour in case those on the tour have questions.

"Please let us know if you can help."

The Kincardine and District Horticultural Society is holding its annual ‘Through The Garden Gate’ garden tour, Sunday, July 14, from Noon to 4 p.m.
