Bell Hackett (nee Graham) of Lucknow, beloved wife of the late Chester Hackett, died peacefully at Huronlea in Brussels, Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at the age of 86. Born in South Kinloss, July 18, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Sadie (Gee) and Douglas Graham. Loving mother of three boys; Jamie (Pat), Ian (Kathy) and Scott (Judy). Caring grandmother of Amber, Brett, Chad, Wesley, Cole, Cullen and Lily, and eight great-grandchildren. Special aunt of Greg Hackett, Brenda Steele and the late Brian Hackett. Also survived by her brother-in-law, Murray Tuck; and step-sister-in-law, Hazel Hackett. Predeceased by her sisters Marian (Warren) Zinn, Margaret (Evan) Keith and Gladys Tuck; and brother- and sister-in-law, Lorne and Joyce Hackett. Bell was always a hard worker. She was involved in her church and her community, and worked with her sister, Marian, on the Ashfield Township history books. Visitation will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, Monday, Jan. 22, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. The funeral will be held in the chapel, Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at 11 a.m. Spring interment, Greenhill Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Huron County would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. |
