William Douglas “Bill” Johnson of Kincardine, died peacefully, Feb. 20, 2024, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, surrounded by his family. He was 81. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Fair) for 58 years. Bill was born in Kincardine, the son of Lyda (Bushell) and Doug Johnson. Dear father of Sean and Phyllis, and Dan and Jackie. Proud grandpa of Meghan, Brady, Mathew and Hayley. Left to mourn are his siblings, David Johnson, Linda (Bill) MacTavish, Ken (Cathy) Johnson; brother-in-law, Don MacGregor; sister-in-law, Eileen Fair; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister, Sheila MacGregor; and sister-in-law, Lois Johnson; his mother- and father-in-law, Stanley and Mae Fair; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lenoys (Georgie) Cuyker, Jack (Eunice) Fair, Neola (Ralph) Stewart, and Beverly Fair. Bill enjoyed life. He always had a big smile and a "Hey Bud!" for everyone he met. He especially enjoyed camping with his family and friends, snowmobiling, and grooming the snowmobile trails so that others could enjoy them too. He took great pride in his farm and farming career. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre, May 11, 2024, from 1-4 pm. Interment, at the Kincardine Cemetery. A special thanks to Dr. Jason Murray, Brandy, Katherine, Dr. Sandhu, and all the doctors and nurses, for providing the excellent care Bill received and the compassionate care given to us, his family.
