Jack William Metcalfe of Whitechurch died suddenly, Feb. 20, 2024, in Lucknow at the age of 54. Beloved husband of Diane (nee Albright). They were married Feb. 6, 1993, and spent 31 years learning, loving and growing together. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Maren Metcalfe, and Emma Metcalfe and her partner, Jordan Gravelle. Jack dearly loved his children and spent many hours with them outdoors, riding ATVs, camping, and coaching hockey. Born Dec. 7, 1969, in Orangeville, he was the son of the late Peter Metcalfe and is survived by his mother, Joyce Metcalfe (nee Vaughan) of Holyrood. He will be greatly missed by his brother, Trevor Metcalfe of Formosa, and his partner, Jaime Plantz. Jack has left behind cherished memories around the campfire at “the Camp” and the evenings will be quiet without his guitar playing and singing. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Jean Albright of Elmwood; sister-in-law, Betty Albright-Walker, and Wingman, Scott Walker of Southampton; and brother-in-law, Dave Albright, and Wingwoman, Laura Albright of Elmwood. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews, and survived by several aunts and uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by his father-in-law, Harry Albright. A private family funeral will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow. A public Come-and-Go Celebration of Life will be held in the Lucknow Legion Jubilee Room, Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, from 2-5 p.m. Interment, St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Walkerton. Memorial donations to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation or Grey-Bruce Addiction Services – CMHA, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. |
