Joanne Darlene Scott (nee Burley), formerly of Kincardine, died peacefully in Bracebridge, Feb. 20, 2024, with family by her side. She was 85. Her infectious laugh, gentle spirit and soft-spoken wisdom will resonate in the hearts of those who loved her. Known as “Bobbie” to her closest friends and family, she was born May 1, 1938, in Bruce County. A loving and devoted wife to Wayne Scott, Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Jean Burley; her granddaughter, Bethany De Groot; and her brothers-in-law, Bob Russell and Ewen MacGregor. Survived by her daughters, Lori (Douglas) Ingram and Sandra Scott-De Groot; and her son, Chris Scott (Kristy Van Hoven). Cherished Gramma of Emma (Dean) Kellar, Jess (Dylan) Monsinger, Abby Ingram (Tristan McNabb), Alethea De Groot (Colin Van Houdt) and Kris De Groot; and Great-Gramma of Bellamy, all of whom will continue to honour her memory and carry on her legacy of love. Also survived by her sisters, Nancy Saunders, Sheila Russell and Judy (Bob) Fletcher; and her brother, Darryl (Robin) Burley. Bobbie’s family is forever grateful for the care and comfort she received from the dedicated staff during her residency at the Pines. A celebration of Bobbie’s life will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Reynolds Funeral Home in Bracebridge. Visitation hours will be from 1-3 p.m., with service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in her memory, to the Alzheimer’s Society or your favourite charity.
