EDWARD "TED" CARUTHERS LITTLE

March 12, 2024

Edward “Ted” Caruthers Little of Kincardine, died peacefully, with his family by his side, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Kincardine, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the age of 69, after a battle with brain cancer. Ted is survived by his cherished wife of nearly 45 years, Rita Little (nee L’Heureux); and daughters, Natassia Christow (Marc) and Catherine McGlynn (James). Proud papa of his grandchildren, Jazlyn, Hunter, Mylah, Katherine, Emma, and William. Beloved brother of Margo Humphreys (the late Paul, 2020) and John Little (Connie). Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Frances Anne Little (nee Clarkin) of Ottawa. Ted was born Feb. 22, 1955, in Marathon, Ontario, and spent his youth in the Ottawa (Nepean) area. He graduated as an engineer from the Royal Military College in Kingston and served in the Navy before joining Ontario Hydro Nuclear in 1982 at the Bruce Nuclear Power Development, where he worked his full career before retiring in 2019. Ted was warm-hearted, honest, generous, incredibly knowledgeable, and did not shy away from a healthy debate. He lived his life authentically, always speaking his mind, and taking a genuine interest in others. His generosity was exemplified when, in 2002, he became one of the first liver transplant living donors in Canada, donating part of his liver to his good friend, Terry Smith. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In his own words: “I have lived a great life, with loving family, in one of the nicest places there is. I have no regrets about my life and hope my loved ones won’t be sad for too long.” Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place in Kincardine at a later date. Memorial donations to the London Health Sciences Foundation or the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine; www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
