William “Bill” James Frederick Zoppi of Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in his 90th year. Born July 29, 1934, in Ottawa, he was the son of the late Fred and Evelyn (née Pink) Zoppi. Beloved husband of the late Joan (née Barrett) Zoppi who predeceased him Sept. 1, 2023. Bill is survived by his son, John, and wife, Shari of Glammis; brother, Peter Zoppi of Walkerton; and brother-in-law, Bob Cline of London. Fondly remembered by several cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends Jill and Keith Colley, Bob and Tryntje Grey and Les and Elaine Slate. Predeceased by his parents; his sister, Frances Cline; and sister-in-law, Jenny Zoppi. Bill was employed as a technician with the Royal Canadian Air Force until 1975, and as control tech with Ontario Hydro until retiring in 1991. He was also a long-time volunteer at the Lake Huron Fish Hatchery. A private family service will be held. A celebration of Bill’s life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 2-4:30 p.m. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery.
