Kenneth Ian “Ken” Johnson of Kincardine, died suddenly, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, four days short of his 72nd birthday. Beloved husband and best friend of Cathy Johnson (née Eskrick). Proud and loving father of Jason (Tegan) Johnson and Joel (Nikki) Johnson. Cherished Papa of Abby, Piper, Katie, Bo, Emma, Quinn, and Eddie. Sadly missed by his brother, David Johnson; and sister, Linda MacTavish (Bill). Fondly remembered by his in-laws, Marj (Art) Koberinski, Don MacGregor, Carol Johnson, Jim (Laurie) Eskrick, Sandy Quinn and Bob Campbell; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Doug and Lyda (née Bushell) Johnson; sister, Sheila MacGregor; brother, Bill Johnson; and sister-in-law, Lois Johnson. Ken lived life to the fullest; no one who met him forgot his infectious smile and laugh. He told stories like no other, and people always had a story to tell about him. After retiring from the Municipality of Kincardine, Ken enjoyed spending countless hours on his farm, fishing, being outside gardening, time on the course with the Wanna Be Golfers, and at family functions with his beloved grandkids. A trickster, he loved to tease his friends, his sons, his wife (a little extra) and all his special grandkids. They all loved it, too, and will miss this the most. He was always the first to lend a hand, where needed, but the last to ask for help. A loyal friend, devoted husband, proud father, brother, uncle, but most importantly, the best Papa. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Ken’s family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of his life at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine, Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 1-5 p.m. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Huron Shores Hospice or the Kincardine Fire Department, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine; www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com. |
