Jan. 20, 2024, surrounded by his family, our son, Ryan Guy Nicholson-Wheeler, died at the Grand River Hospital in Kitchener. Ryan was born Feb. 3, 1996, at the same hospital. He was 27 years old. Ryan was much loved and will be forever missed by his parents, Guy and Brenda (née Nicholson) Wheeler, who raised their three children on William Street in Waterloo, and now reside in Kincardine. He is also very much missed by his older brother, Robyn (Bryann); and sisters, Rachael (Marina) and Florence (Matt) Pickoski; niece, Kayla; and wee nephew, Bowen. Ryan is fondly remembered by his auntie Sandra and uncle Steve (godparents) Liddle, auntie Dianne Bath, uncle John (Janis) Nicholson, uncle Don Emmerton, auntie Helen (Dale) Beck, auntie Lorraine (Dieter) Glarvin, auntie Jan (Bob) Painchaud, uncle Randy (Bonnie) Wheeler, and his great-auntie Marjorie Nicholson and great-uncle Kenneth Hartwick. Ryan was very lucky to have grown up with many cousins and lived most of his life beside one of his favourite cousins, Alex (Sandra) Liddle, on the same block on William Street. Predeceased by his grandparents, Mac and Florence (née Hartwick) Nicholson of Kincardine, and Kenneth and Doris (née Rosmond) Wheeler of Cobden; his auntie Marion (née Nicholson) Emmerton; his uncle Delburn and auntie Lila (née O’Connor) Wheeler. Ryan has left a hole in the hearts of his relatives and friends (young and old) that he met along his short journey. We thank Stefanie Krug for “being there” for Ryan, and the staff at the House of Friendship in Waterloo. A Celebration of Ryan’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine, Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 2-5 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the House of Friendship - Shelter Care in Ryan’s memory. “Your wings were ready, but my heart was not.” Portrait and memorial on-line at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com |
