Beryl MacDonald of Goderich, formerly of Ashfield Township, died peacefully, Monday, March 11, 2024, at the age of 88. Forever loved and remembered by her loving husband, Allan MacDonald; her daughters, Lorraine (Frances), Janet, and Bonnie; her son, Ed (Sandra); grandsons, Daryl (Becky), and Dan (Angie); her three great-grandchildren, Addison, Matheson and Mackenzie. Survived by her sister, Lois (Don) Straughan; and brother, Art (Betty) Freeman. Predeceased by her loving parents, Joseph and Eva Freeman; and younger brother, Joe (Linda) Freeman. Beryl was the best mom anyone could ask for. The love she showered on all of her kids extended far beyond just her children. She was like a mother to many of their childhood friends and the little ones on her bus throughout the years. She drove school bus for 23 years, taught Sunday School and babysat for so many family and friends. The door and her arms were always open, feeding the masses and spreading the love. She loved music and her beautiful piano playing made her home as warm as the sun. Beryl also loved gardening, flowers and birds. She wanted us to be reminded of her if you ever see a "Blue Bird (of Happiness)." Just know it's her and say Hi. The funeral was held at the Kingsbridge Centre, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11 a.m., with interment at Kintail Cemetery. A Celebration of Beryl's life followed at the Goderich Legion from 1-5 p.m. The family thanks the doctors, nurses and hospital staff at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich for all their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Canada, the Kingsbridge Centre or a charity of your choice, are gratefully acknowledged by the family; arrangements entrusted to the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home, Goderich; www.arbormemorial.ca/en/mccallumpalla. |
