Dennis Lyle Snyder of Ripley went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, June 13, 2024, at the age of 68. Born Jan. 9, 1956, in Kitchener, he was the son of Cleason and Beatrice Snyder. The second oldest of seven children, he attended high school at John Diefenbaker Secondary School in Hanover, and went on to college and received a computer diploma. He worked for the provincial government for several years as a database administrator. In recent years, he enjoyed driving his Amish friends around the area and having fellowship with them as they travelled. Throughout Dennis’ life, he lived in different parts of the country, including Ayton, Calgary and Toronto, eventually settling in Ripley where he resided until his death. Dennis was a quiet, loving and sensitive man with a quick wit. He loved taking care of his cat, and watching his favourite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays, play. His memory for baseball players’ names, stats and trivia was truly impressive. Though his life had its ups and downs, Dennis relied upon Jesus for his joy and comfort. He enjoyed attending church when he went, and having fellowship there. Dennis is survived by his sister, Sharon; his brothers, Don, Doug (Eleanor), Gil (Lisa) and Glen (Gloria); and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Cleason and Beatrice Snyder; his sister, Gloria; and sister-in-law, Vicky. We will miss you, Dennis. A graveside funeral service was held Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Ripley Cemetery; arrangements entrusted to the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley. Romans 8: 35, 37-39: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
