Albina Roy of Kincardine died in Tiverton, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the age of 93. Wife of the late Moise Roy. Daughter of the late Stanislas and Laura (née Simon) Bouffard. Beloved mother of Daniel (Rhetha) Roy and Carol Christian (Bruce Schmidt). Cherished grandmother of Brent (Jolene), Michael (Denise), Jeremy, and Jonathon (Krysia), and great-grandmother of Mikayla, Sierra, Kaitlynn and Veda. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her siblings, Louis, Arthur (Marie), Lina Porlier (Jean), Omer (Berthe), Henri (Dilia), Edna Boulard (Florent), Aline Duval (Jules), Élise Labrosse (Martial), Léona Boulard (Aurèle), Emma Aubin (Jean), Elizabeth Roy (Alex), Lilliane Lachance (Roland), and Lucille. Albina lived most of her life with Moise in Sudbury. They were involved in community and L’Annonciation Parish where she was a long-time member of the church choir. As active members of Club Amical (Rue Lavoie), Albina championed the ‘craft and knitting room’ where wool socks were made aplenty, and hundreds were sold at the New Sudbury Fall Fair. After the death of her husband, Albina moved to Kincardine to be closer to her children. Here, she got involved with the Red Hat Society and was treasurer for many years. Her favourite pastimes were still knitting, reading, puzzles, and watching “The Young and The Restless. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Her ashes will join those of her husband, Moise, during a summer graveside burial service at the LaSalle Cemetery in Sudbury.
