Thomas Daniel Hanks III of Chester, Nova Scotia, formerly of Kincardine, died peacefully July 14, 2024, at the age of 85. Born in Toronto, he was the son of Thomas Hanks II and Frances Forsey. Tom was an avid sports fan and long-suffering supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs. As a youth, he played on the St. Mike’s hockey team and later coached hockey and baseball in Kincardine. He worked as a civil maintainer for Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for many years and even farmed for a while when he and his wife, Margot, took over the family farm. Tom was a devoted family man, a fun-loving guy and a wicked opponent at “trivial pursuit.” Survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Anne; grandchildren, Dan, Jessica, Alex Ogilvie, Rebecca, Ben, Tristian, and Sarah Baker, and Shona and Hamish Campbell; and great-grandchildren, Shaleigh, Meaghan, Henry, Iris, Fern, Rachael, Georgia and William. Predeceased by his wife, Margot (MacKinnon); daughters, Kimberley Anne, and Carole Elizabeth; and granddaughter, Rachael Baker.
