CRAIG WILLIAM ROUMEY

August 22, 2024

Craig William Roumey of Kincardine died Aug. 22, 2024, at the age of 59. He is predeceased by his parents, Norma Irene Roumey (Sachs) and William John Roumey. Lovingly remembered by his sisters, Sherry Rebecca Roumey (Bradley Brown) and Debra Lynn Watson (A.J. Watson); as well as his nephew, Miguel Bialogrecki; and nieces, Jessica Watson (Nick Myers), Sara Watson (Adam Caskenette), and Nicole Watson (Travis Rawlings). Craig attended Humber College in radio broadcasting and had a successful career as a copywriter at CJCS in Stratford and as creative director at KX94.7 in Hamilton. Upon early retirement from his career, he moved to Kincardine. He became involved in the Municipality of Kincardine’s accessibility advisory committee, adding his voice and knowledge in advocating for disabled persons and increasing accessibility and inclusivity for all members of the community. He took great pride in helping people to better understand the barriers encountered by those of different abilities and how small changes can make a huge impact. Craig loved to garden and created beautiful planters every spring. He had a love for all animals but cats were his special love. His passion for music was a constant in his life. He loved the guitar and found another creative outlet by writing songs with meaningful lyrics. His family welcomes those who have been touched by Craig’s presence in their life, to a visitation at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes St., Kincardine, Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a brief service and celebration of Craig’s life and the memories created with him. Donations can be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society or to a Humane Society of your choice. Special thanks to the nurses, physicians and care providers who attended to Craig during his illness, both at home and while at Kincardine Hospital. Your caring presence provided Craig and his family with peace at the end of a long journey. Special thanks to all the caring providers at Abundance Health in Hamilton for providing pain relief to Craig. Your care, friendship and professional skill were valued beyond words.
