Donald Gideon "Doc" McLeod of Kincardine, died Sept. 15, 2024, at the Kincardine Hospital. He was 87 years old. Left to mourn are his beloved wife of 64 years, Johanna (nee Scott); his son, Donald, and his wife, Kirsten Van Gent of Ripley; his two grandsons, Daniel McLeod and Dustin Richard. Also survived by his brother, John, and his wife, Maureen McLeod of Fergus. Predeceased by his son, Ken (2010); and his sister, Sheila (Steve) Shisko. Doc was a sports enthusiast. There wasn't a sport he didn't like. From spring ‘til fall, you would find him at the golf course, and in the winter months, he was at the curling club. He was also highly involved in the Bridge Club. An accountant by trade, Doc owned and operated three businesses over the course of his life. The final business he ran was the Donut Dock with the help of his sons, Ken and Don. If you ever met Doc out for a walk, he would likely have one of his beloved dogs at his side, and he would be eager to find a way to make a short story longer by filling in every detail to paint you a vivid picture of his exploits! He will be missed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley. A graveside service will be conducted at the Ripley Cemetery, Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Ripley-Huron Branch.
