Judith Ann (Judy) MacKenzie of Lucknow, wife of the late Neil MacKenzie, died peacefully at Wingham and District Hospital, Oct. 15, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 72. Born Sept. 5, 1952, in Kincardine Township, Judy was the daughter of the late Duncan and Kathleen Thorburn. Dear mother of Brian and Annette MacKenzie, Neil MacKenzie, and Erin and Chad MacArthur. Missed by her grandchildren, Branson, Lane, Coye, Drayton, Brooke, Dallas, Jayce, Jenna, and Coby. Survived by her sisters, Janet (Wayne) Nixon and Joyce (David) Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. Judy will be remembered for her big loving heart, her love for her grandchildren and children, always putting their needs before her own. She was a baking grandma, a craft grandma, a whatever you want to do grandma. Over the years, she was a large supporter of, and volunteer with, the Ashfield Presbyterian Church and the Lochalsh Cemetery. She lived by these words: “Start each day with a positive thought and a grateful heart.” A memorial service will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at 11 a.m. Interment, Lochalsh Cemetery.
