ANNA AGNES MacTAVISH (nee MacDONALD)

October 18, 2024

Anna Agnes MacTavish (nee MacDonald) of Ripley died, surrounded by her family, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, Oct. 18, 2024, at the age of 101. Beloved wife of Donald MacTavish who predeceased her in 2017. Loving mother of her three daughters, Barb (predeceased in 2007) and Charles Liddle of Kincardine, Jean and Ian MacDonald of Kincardine, and Marg and Sandy Pollock of Ripley. She was so proud of her seven grandchildren, Kim (John) Fairbairn, Kent (Nicole) Liddle, Jenny MacDonald (Brent Guay), Melissa (Shane) Watson, Brett (Sarah) Pollock, Corey Pollock, and Tyson (Amy) Pollock. And nothing made her happier than having visits from her 11 great-grandchildren, Brayden and Alexa Sautner, Nathan and Briar Pollock, Nash and Taylor Liddle, Blake and Natalie Pollock, Jack and Liam Fairbairn and Raeleigh Watson. Anna married Don MacTavish in 1949 and they spent many years beef-farming on the 2nd Concession of Huron Township before retiring to Ripley. They enjoyed many winters at their home in Florida where they were always getting together with friends and playing cards. In 2017, after Don’s death, she moved into RVilla Retirement Living in Ripley where she enjoyed her final years participating in the many activities. Thank you to the staff at Rosewood RVilla for the care and support given to mom. Anna made many good friends over the years, playing bridge (her favourite card game) and scrabble. And she was a dedicated member of St. Andrew’s United Church in Ripley. She was a wonderful person who always thought of others before herself and never complained. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. The funeral will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at 11 a.m., at St. Andrew’s United Church, Ripley, with visitation one hour prior (10-11 a.m.); arrangements entrusted to the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley. Memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation or St. Andrew’s United Church in Ripley, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
