Wilfred Henry Helm of Kincardine, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, with family at his side, at Extendicare Columbia Forest, Waterloo, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Jessie Helm (nee Ritchie). Loving father of Richard Helm (Joan) of Burlington, Kay Fitzpatrick (Steve) of Kitchener, Barb Reid (Tom) of Hanover, Shirley Prosser (Dennis) of Peterborough, Kevin Helm (Jolene Innes) of Mitchell, and Randy Helm (Kim) of Waterloo. Proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by extended family, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Chambers and Verna Helm; sister, Eunice Hewitt, and her husband, Wib, of Lucknow; and brother, Glenn Helm, and his wife, Pat, of Owen Sound. Wilfred was a dairy farmer on the 10th of Kincardine, which meant for a busy life. On the farm that he bought from his father, Wilfred worked hard, provided for his family and raised six children with his wife, Jessie. When Jessie and Wilfred sold the farm, they moved into Kincardine. Retirement meant time for bus tours and road trips. Wilfred loved cars and switched his up often. He enjoyed country music, and played the harmonica and sometimes, the spoons. In later years, Wilfred enjoyed visits with his family, and watching “The Price is Right,” “Wheel of Fortune” and “Blue Bloods.” He loved dogs, cars and big TVs but most of all, his family. A private memorial service will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine. Interment, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Portrait and memorial on-line at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com. |
