THELMA FRANCES WHITTINGTON (nee EDDEN)

Thelma Frances Whittington (nee Edden) of Kincardine, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, at the age of 90. She leaves behind her best friend, her champion and love of her life, William (Bill) Charles Hertel. Also survived by her children, James (Fred) Whittington, Kevin Whittington, Leslie and Jim Whittington-Dolson, Darren and Donna Lynn-Whittington, Tracey and Michael Hertel and Ronnie and Gwen Hertel; grandchildren, Tara, Shawn, Kayla, Trevor, Randi-Lynn, Nicki, Keith, Bryan, Sarah, Matt, Andrew, Emily, Jared and Aaron; and great-grandchildren, Angelina, Jesse, Shana, Edden and Alexandra; as well as countless nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends who felt her warmth and generosity. Predeceased by her husband, Keith Frederick Whittington; her parents, Thelma and George Edden; her brother, Bryan; and her granddaughter, Shana Lorriane Whittington. Thelma was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community of Kincardine, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. She had different names from those she knew: Sister, Mom, Aunt Sam, Fran and Thelma. Her love and wisdom never wavered. Full of love, laughter and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London.
