SCOTT DOUGLAS WILSON

October 22, 2025

Scott Douglas Wilson of Kincardine died peacefully, with his wife by his side, Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at Huron Shores Hospice, Tiverton, after a courageously-fought battle with cancer. He was 58. Born in 1967 in Montreal, he was the son of Ruth Estell (nee Rahn) Wilson and the late Douglas Gordon Wilson. In August of 1991, he married his beloved Manon (nee Larose) in Montreal. Together, they raised four amazing children, Jeremiah (Linda), Courtney, Allison, and Kimberley. He became a proud grandfather to Silas in January, 2025. Scott graduated from Carlton University in 1990 as an electrical and electronic engineer. After becoming a professional engineer, he worked for 35 years at what is now known as Bruce Power. He strongly believed in giving his time generously to others, volunteering for years with the Air Cadets (Port Elgin) as a civilian instructor and passionately teaching on leadership and personal values. He enjoyed welcoming many exchange students into our family, and grew close with many, including Mylenia who is like a daughter to him. Scott was a man who passionately loved to debate on any subject, solve puzzles, learn new things (a handy man he was not), and was a downhill ski instructor for many years. He had a witty sense of humour and a strong love of God. His family was the most important part of his life. He will be missed by many, including his two older sisters, Lori (Mark) and Tracy (Dave); as well as John Kadai whom he considered a brother. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our attitudes. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service. A private family burial was held on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025. A memorial service will take place Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, at 1 p.m., at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, 6 McKay Street, Tiverton, followed by a reception. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Huron Shores Hospice or the Air Cadets (Port Elgin), in place of flowers, would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made on-line at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
