DONALD (DON) GORDEN FAIR

November 4, 2025

Donald (Don) Gorden Fair, formerly of Kincardine, died peacefully, at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Karen Fair (née Sheane). Dear father of Michael Fair of Quebec City, Quebec; Nicole (Greg) Markmann of Phoenix, Arizona; and Sheane Fair of Phoenix, Arizona. Fondly remembered by his siblings, Mike (Becky) Fair, David (Val) Fair, Pauline (Gary) Somogyi, Ken (Julie) Fair, Ann Bell, and Joan McLaughlin; and sister-in-law, Kimberly Sheane (Steve Cameron); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Shirley (née Clark) Fair; and in-laws, Weir and Evelyn (née Kerr) Sheane of Kincardine. Don was born in Kincardine March 20, 1955, the oldest boy of Harold and Shirley. He farmed the family farm on Highway 9 from 1979 to 1994. He graduated from Conestoga College as a journeyman plumber in 1992, and in 1994, his family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where he worked as a plumber. In 2001, he started his own plumbing business, proudly named after his three children. Don loved his job and friends fondly called him “Don the Plumber.” Don enjoyed playing hockey and baseball, as well as curling, and golfing. He coached his two boys' hockey teams and proudly sponsored a baseball team on which Sheane played. When he took time off from his plumbing business, he enjoyed travelling, with many trips back to Ontario and British Columbia to see his family. In April of 2024, Don was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a blood cancer. He fought a hard battle, enduring many chemotherapy treatments, but was able to enjoy many trips to Ontario to spend time with family and friends. He even took on a few “Don the Plumber” jobs. He donated his body to medical research in the hope that someday a cure can be found for MDS. Don will be remembered for his sense of humour, tireless work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family. A family celebration of life will take place in Kincardine next summer. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Blood Cancer United would be appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made on-line at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
