Barbara Lorraine Hogan (Anning) of RR 3, Lucknow died peacefully at the family cottage in Point Clark, surrounded by her loving family, April 30, 2019. She was 59. Beloved wife of Francis Hogan for 26 years. Dear mother of Alex (Destinee Shepherd), and Emilie (Adam Cronin), both still at home. Cherished daughter of Shirley Anning of Goderich, and formerly of Guelph. Sister of Jeff Anning and wife, Lisa Wolfe, of Nova Scotia. Also survived by an uncle, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Fondly remembered by her Hogan and Howard in-laws. Predeceased by her father, Lloyd Anning. Barb was born in Toronto, May 7, 1959. She grew up in Guelph and spent much time at her family’s cottage in Bala, Muskokas. She worked in social services in Alberta, then became the executive director of Community Living in Wingham. Barb married Francis Hogan July 11, 1992, in Kingsbridge, and was a devoted mother to Alex and Emilie. She spent much of her time giving back to the community by volunteering at her children’s schools, chairing the Huron County Christmas Bureau for 10 years, and being an active board member for Almost Famous Players and the St. Joseph’s Kingsbridge Community Centre. Barb enjoyed entertaining family and friends, hosting dinner parties and relaxing at the cottage. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at the St. Joseph's Kingsbridge Community Centre, 84675A Bluewater Veterans Highway, RR 3, Goderich. The funeral will be held Sunday, May 5, 2019, at 11 a.m., at the St. Joseph's Kingsbridge Community Centre. Interment St Joseph's Cemetery, Kingsbridge. Memorial donations to theHuron County Christmas Bureau c/o Huron Perth Children's Aid Society, the St. Joseph's Kingsbridge Community or the Huron Women's Shelter, Second Stage Housing and Counselling Services, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. |
