James “Jim” Gordon Coverley of Kincardine, died with family by his side at Chapman House, Owen Sound, Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Sue Coverley (née Beadle). Cherished father of Cari-Anne (Vince) Deciccio of Gores Landing, Traci (Glen) Jewer of Oshawa, Michael (Tammy) Catherwood of Vittoria, and Paul (Stacey) Catherwood of Simcoe. Loving grandfather of Kyle, Matt, Katie, Jenny, Faith, Liam and Chelsea. Dear brother of Dan Coverley of Dunsford, Joe (Anna) Coverley of Ingleside, Rose (John) Brown of Courtice, and Donald (Joan) of Nestleton. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jim was a hard-working, dedicated member of the community. For the past several years, he was the MC at the concert in the park during the annual Massed Bands celebration in Victoria Park, Kincardine, and he helped clear Queen Street for the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band Saturday night parade. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held in the chapel at the funeral home, Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Tina Drysdale officiating. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to Centre of Hope Victory Church (Building Fund) or Chapman House - Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
