Deborah “Debbie” Lynne Simmons (née Murray) of Tiverton, died with family by her side, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, in her 61st year. Cherished wife of Ron Simmons. Loving mother of Tamara Simmons of Tiverton, Shelby (Kristen) Simmons of Port Elgin, and the late Wade Simmons. Dear grandmother of Jaxon. Beloved daughter of Amelia Murray (née Carruthers) of Clifford. Missed by her siblings, Dianne (Brad) Schieck, Nancy (Gary) Gibson, Helen (Ken Batte) Murray, all of Arthur; and Alphonse (Crystal) Murray of St. Jacobs. Remembered by her mother-in-law, Pat Simmons; and in-laws, Randy (Patrice) Simmons, Deb Kraft and Richard (Janny) Simmons. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her father, John Murray; brother, David Murray; father-in-law, Roy Simmons; and brother-in-law, Ken Kraft. Strong in spirit with a love of family and friends, Debbie was an avid supporter of the Tiverton and Kincardine communities for more than 30 years. Lions clubs, support groups, minor sports, fire department, run an arena - it was all possible in the indomitable will of a remarkable woman. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019, from 2-6 p.m. The funeral will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton, Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating. Final resting place, Port Bruce Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Tiverton Initiatives Committee (Community Centre Fund), Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated as expression of sympathy. |
