Shirley Frances Brooks of Lucknow died at the Wingham and District Hospital, Dec. 21, 2019, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Brooks who predeceased her in 2015. Shirley was born in Ashfield Township July 9, 1927, daughter of the late Annie (Fitzgerald) and James Culbert. She will be greatly missed by her children, Ruth Savage of Kincardine, Don and Lynn Brooks of Lucknow, and Kathy and Jim Dickson of Kincardine. Lovingly remembered by her 13 grandchildren, Travis (Melissa) Remington, Cailyn (Chris) Norris, Meagan (Nick) Chammoun, Brad (Julie) Savage, Blair (Ashley) Savage, Alexa (Jeremy) McQuillin, Tyler (Sarah) Brooks, Dani (Luke) Lindsay, Brendan (Paisley) Dickson, Ashley (Mike) Dickson, Mitch Dickson, Josh (Robin) Johnston, and Lindsay (Jason) Needham; and her 22 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter, Janice Remington; son-in-law, Don Savage; her brother, Gerald Culbert; and sisters, Beatrice Will and Jean Teeft. Visitation will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, from 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held at the chapel, Saturday Dec. 28, 2019, at 11a.m., with grandsons as pallbearers, and granddaughters as flower bearers. Spring interment, Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow. Donations to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation or the Lucknow United Church, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. |
