Wallace “Wally” Carl Pollock of Ripley died Aug. 13, 2020, at the Kincardine hospital. He was 90. Beloved husband of Elaine (nee Sutherland) for 67 years. Loving father of Sherry (Annemie), Sandy (Marg), Mike (Shelly), and Joanne (Kevin). Proud grandpa of 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister, Lucille Fischer. Predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Melville (Beattie), Clarence (Lois), Lorne, and Dawson (Joyce); and brother-in-law, Lorne Fischer. Wally was born in Kincardine, son of the late Sophia (Haug) and Ernest Pollock. A long-time Huron Township farmer, he was very active in the community. He was a member of the Ripley Lions Club for decades, a faithful member of St. Andrew's United Church in Ripley, and a strong supporter of Ripley Wolves hockey and many minor hockey teams. Wally loved to travel and to curl. Most of all, he cherished his family. He was a great guy who will be sadly missed. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of RVilla in Ripley, Dr. Jason Murray, and the Kincardine hospital palliative care team for their compassionate care. A private graveside service will be conducted at the Ripley Cemetery, with Rev. Marsha Roberts officiating.
