Betty Anne Farrish, formerly of Ripley, died peacefully at Millennium Trail Manor in Niagara Falls, Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at the age of 78. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Lorne Ward (2002). Dear and loving mother of Peter Sawchuk and wife, Jill, of Queenston; and Bill Sawchuk and wife, Crystal, of Fonthill; and stepmother of Karen Ward of Oakville; and Steven Ward and wife, Paddy of Cincinnati, Ohio. Cherished grandmother of Alexander Sawchuk and Aiden Sawchuk of Fonthill. Dear sister of John Farrish of Ripley; Bob Farrish and wife, Noma, of Lucknow; and Deanna Thibodeau (nee Farrish) of London. Predeceased by her parents, Alexander (Bud) and Marjorie Farrish; and her brother, Alexander (Sandy). Betty Anne dedicated her heart and soul to mental health services, and was a founder of the Oak Centre Club House - Alternative Community Support, in Welland. She was a registered nurse, and later in her life, discovered therapeutic touch and used it to ease the lives of others. Betty Anne was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be forever missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place, and the family will gather at a later date when it is safer to honour her life.
