James (Jim) Marshall Gibson of Lucknow, beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Clark), died at the Wingham and District Hospital, Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at the age of 77. Born June 15, 1943, he was the son of the late Grace (Young) and Marshall Gibson. Greatly missed by his children, David (Sheila) Gibson of RR 1, Ripley; Peggy (Kevin) Clark of RR 3, Lucknow; Christine (Paul) McIntyre of RR 5, Lucknow; Scott (Kim) Gibson of RR 1, Ripley; and Darryl (Lisa) Gibson of RR 3, Lucknow. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; as well as his sisters, Shirley (Don) Smith of London and Beatrice Madge of Lucknow; brother, Donald (Dianne) Gibson of Goderich; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Gibson of Whitechurch, and Nancy Gibson of Lucknow. Predeceased by his sister, Phylis Rivett; and brothers, Bill and Allan Gibson. Jim was a farmer all his life. He and Eleanor were married in January, 1964, and settled in the Kinloss area. They purchased their home farm in Ashfield Township on Highway 86, in 1971. He enjoyed cash-crop farming and operated a large custom operation for many years. Due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic restrictions, a private funeral service will be held from the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, with spring interment at Greenhill Cemetery.
