Shirley Anne Walden (McCreath) of Ripley, beloved wife of Peter Walden, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the age of 66. Born in Kincardine, July 26, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Helen (MacDonald) and Bill McCreath. Greatly missed by her daughters, Lori Walden (Ryan Dimma), Shannon Walden (Padraic O’Malley) and Jenna Walden (Charles Marshall); and her grandchildren, Case, Ava, Olive and Violet. Lovingly remembered by her sister, Mary Armstrong (Al Jamieson); and her in-laws, Mary (Ray) Chowen, Gert (John) Larsen, and Brock (Mary Rose) Walden. Also survived by her aunts, Jean Colling, Sheila MacDonald and Audrey MacDonald; and several nieces and nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her brother-in-law, Lynn Armstrong. Following Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be held at the Lurgan Cemetery, at a later date. Donations to the Ripley Lions Club Christmas Hamper program or CURE (Breast Cancer) Foundation, would be greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
