HAROLD "BARRY" HALDENBY

June 6, 2021

Harold “Barry” Haldenby of Lucknow, died away at home surrounded by the love of his family, June 6, 2021. He was 71. Beloved husband of Marie Haldenby for 50 years. Born April 12, 1950, in Wingham, he was the son of the late Harold and Madeleine Haldenby. Dear dad of Allyson and Mike Cowan, Jason and Kendra, Rob and Sherri, and an infant daughter who predeceased him. Proud grandpa of his eight grandkids: Erin and Wes Massey, Maghan Cowan, Destinee Shepherd, Daija, Devin, and Delilah Haldenby, and Trent and Maddy Haldenby. Great-grandpa of Ethan and Elyssa Massey and Reo Cowan. Brother of Sheila (Bob) Nethercott of Forest, and Geordie (Cathy) Haldenby of Sarnia; brother-in-law of Wayne (Judy) Brooks. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his in-laws, Omar and Dora Brooks. Barry loved refurbishing old cars, and boasted a total of 50 in his collection. His love for things to go did not stop there, as he enjoyed motorcycles and continued to work on his dad's small engines. Summer fun included boating and fishing. His gun collection came in handy for the hunting season. Summer vacations in the north made many memories for him and his family. Many a party saw him share his talent of music - singing and playing his guitar. He worked at Bruce Power for 30 years. At Otsbek Manor, he worked as the "handy man" for 13 years. He went above and beyond to meet all of the residents' needs and was everyone's friend. Barry loved to spend time with his own family and grandchildren. Indeed, he was truly a very willing helper for family and friends and will be missed very much. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, private arrangements have been made. Memorial donations to the Lucknow United Church, the Wingham and District Hospital Oncology Unit or Crohn's and Colitis Canada, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy; arrangements entrusted to the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow; www.mackenzieandmccreath.com/
