WILLIAM "BILL" WILFRED TURVILL

William “Bill” Wilfred Turvill (Mr. T.) of Kincardine, died peacefully, Wednesday, June 23, 2021, with his daughters holding his hands, at Victoria Hospital, London, following a short illness. He was 84. Sadly missed by his son, Bill Jr., and daughter-in-law, Nancy; daughter, Gwenna; and daughter, Janice, and son-in-law, Randy. Loved and missed by his grandchildren, Jenny (Mike), Blake, Liz (Luke), Claire (Matt), Rebecca, Sawyer and Molly (Dylan); and great-grandsons, Landon and Leo (predeceased). Predeceased by his parents, William Wilfred Turvill Sr. and Muriel Kathleen Turvill (née Harvey). Bill was an exceptional card-player, a pretty good golfer, a loyal Probus member and a wonderful friend to many. Principal of RDSS, RDS and KDSS, a police commissioner for the Town of Kincardine, teacher of ESL and a counsellor, Bill had colourful careers. He was a devout member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine. Special thanks to the staff of The Village of Glendale Crossing, London, (especially the Glanworth neighbourhood) for their care and compassion during his final few months. Thanks to Cam, Ken, Dick and Dave, for their friendship and loyalty. The funeral will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Monday, June 28, 2021, with Rev. Kathy Fraser officiating. Interment, Kincardine Cemetery, following the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Bill Turvill Scholastic Award which supports one Grade 8 graduate each year at Ripley-Huron Community School (please make cheques payable to the Bluewater District School Board), or a charity of your choice, as expressions of sympathy, or plant a tree in his memory.
