After a lengthy, well-fought battle, Charlene Faye Martin of Kincardine, died peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, at University Hospital in London, Wednesday, July 7, 2021, in her 56th year.Loving mother of Phillip Wilson, Samuel Wilson and Isabelle Wilson. Missed dearly by her mother, Mabel Martin; brother, Thomas Martin (Kathy); and sister, Deanna Martin. Fondly remembered by her niece, Stephanie Garlough (Kevin); nephews, Patrick Thompson (Kristen), Jake and Cale Martin; grand-nieces, Violet Thompson, Jasmine and Zoey Garlough; and grand-nephew, Jasper Thompson. Predeceased by her father, Alan Martin. Charlene had a love for recreation. She founded the Kincardine Klassics Gymnastics Club, worked in Aquatics, taught Highland Dancing, and coached various sports teams over the years. Her greatest legacy was the love she had for her three children. She was an avid volunteer, from coaching her children's sports teams, to being president of the Home and School Association even after her last child completed school. In 2017, she received the Bluewater District School Board’s Award of Excellence. Many thanks to Dr. Sanjay Mehta for the wonderful care he gave Charlene over the past years. Visitation will take place at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, from 2-4 p.m. The memorial service to celebrate Charlene's life, will be held Monday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m., with Ann Maycock officiating.
