Katherine Anne “Kathy” MacDonald of Kitchener, beloved daughter of the late Hazel (Mundell) and James C. MacDonald, died Saturday July 17, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital Kitchener, at the age of 76. She was born Nov. 3, 1944 in Kincardine. Survived by her brothers, Donald (Elma) MacDonald and Allan (Sandra) MacDonald, all of Ripley. Also greatly missed by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews. Predeceased by her brother, Douglas. Katherine “Kathy” was a dedicated secretary for the Ontario government (OFFRA office in Guelph) for 36 years. She was a kind-hearted, devoted lady to family and friends, and added the “spark” to many social gatherings. Kathy served on committees for the church and was involved with the Ontario Plowmen’s Association IPM 2012. She loved coming home for functions in Ripley, such as the Ripley-Huron Fall Fair and dinners. Her talent for tole-painting was admired at craft shows around Kitchener-Waterloo and in Ripley. We will miss her greatly. A private funeral will take place at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley. Interment, Ripley Cemetery. Donations to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Kitchener (Camp Kummoniwannago, a youth camp), the Ripley Lions Club or the Ripley Agricultural Society, are greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
