Patricia Elaine Guay of Kincardine died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at the age of 74. Why should it be any surprise that this independent, detail-oriented person would want to write her own obituary? Those who knew me, know my milestones and achievements in life so this is no place to “brag.” I had a wonderful life and would not change a thing! Instead, in sincere humility, I wish to thank those who accompanied me on my life’s journey: my awesome parents, Gladys Victoria and John Oliver Guay, grandparents, daughter, grandsons, great-grandchildren, godchildren, cousins, friends, and my dear pets. The best thing I ever did was welcome Lin into my family as my daughter, thereby, creating a wonderful family of grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua, and their spouses, Hannah and Natalie; and great-grandchildren, Corbin and Sofia. I’ve also been so blessed with friends, so many of whom were like family. Over the years, students, parents of students, and staff have also entered the realm of friends. I am deeply grateful for my unwavering Catholic faith which I shared in my chosen mission of Catholic education. My parents, family, teachers, Priests and Sisters deserve my eternal gratitude in my faith formation. I chose to ‘go it alone,’ independent and free with my vocation of being single, dedicated to family, profession and church. Yet, I had so many friends and acquaintances, in addition to my birth and adopted family. To all of you who entered my vast circle of life – bless you and thank you! See you on the other side in eternity with the Lord.
