COLIN HOWES |
November 12, 2021 |
Colin Howes of Kintail died peacefully, with his family beside him, at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich, Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, in his 89th year. Cherished husband of Gail for 65 years. Loving father of Alex, Brian, Sharon (Michael) and Lorelee (Dennis). Proud grandfather of Amanda, Jason and James. Predeceased by his parents, Earl and Lilian Howes; brother, Alec; sister, Isabel; and daughter-in-law, Brenda. An avid reader, Colin was rarely found without a book or newspaper in hand. He was always ready to discuss current or past events and took a more-than-passing interest in both local and world history. He loved a good debate and had been known to argue one position and then, only days or weeks later, to argue the opposing view just for the fun of it. Colin worked at Dearborn Steel for 30 years and after retirement, turned his attention to volunteering on the Kintail Cemetery Board where he acted as caretaker and treasurer for 20 years. A private family graveside service will be held at Kintail Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Kintail Cemetery or the Arthritis Society or the charity of your choice; arrangements entrusted to the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home, Goderich; www.arbormemorial.ca/en/mccallumpalla |
