Charles “Alan” Barker of Kincardine, died peacefully after a brief illness, Jan. 30, 2022, at the age of 86. Greatly missed by his loving wife, Lynn; children, Debbie Murfitt (Scott), Jodi Amis (Steve), Craig Crawford (Anne) and Darren Crawford (Tiffany); seven grandchildren, Christopher (Fanny), Chad (Ashley), Justin (Rosalie), Jenna and Aiden, Olivia and Phoebe; and four great-grandchildren, Jane, Katharina, Logan and Arthur; as well as many relatives and friends. Al was a teacher, site supervisor in the house-building industry, an avid outdoorsman and traveller. He loved all sports and enjoyed golf and cross-country skiing. He and Lynn welcomed all family and friends to their wonderful home on Lake Huron in Kincardine for many gatherings and dips in the lake, visits to Inverhuron Park, Somerhill Golf Club, Bluewater Summer Playhouse, and Saturday nights with the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Kincardine Hospital for their wonderful care and support during this difficult time. A celebration to honour Al’s life will take place at a later date.
