Our much-loved spitfire of a daughter and sister, Larissa Amy Chalmers, died peacefully with family by her side, Feb. 11, 2022, at University Hospital in London. She was 20. Larissa went down swinging and we are in awe of the strength she displayed while fighting to live. We will never know for certain all the factors that triggered her downward health spiral, but she had tested positive for COVID-19, and although not the reason for hospitalization, it played a part in the downward turn of her health. There is also a possibility that she had an underlying health issue that was unknown to us all, and this could have been a contributing factor pre- and post-liver transplant operation. Survived by her parents, Jeff and Deb, of Ripley; and her sister, Darby, currently living in Waterloo attending pharmacy school. Larissa was enrolled to be a Medical Radiation Technician at Fanshawe College. She was fortunate enough to develop friendships that offered us immense support through this challenging period of our lives. She had a multitude of friends, locally, who will miss her greatly and they, too, along with their families, offered us immense support. She was a strong shoulder to lean on and a great friend. Larissa was blessed to have numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins, and still had her maternal grandparents, all of whom miss her dearly. She had a special relationship with her Grandpa Grubb and found a way onto his lap as often as she could for many years. Predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Wally and Gail Chalmers, and knew how pleased they would have been, especially Grandma C, when she got her acceptance into the MRT program. Our precious child, you are loved deeply and missed greatly and our baby you will always be. A private visitation will take place by invitation only, and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Interment, Ripley Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a hospital of your choice or the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Kincardine, Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, or London Health Sciences Centre, University Hospital in London.
